When Alma decided to expand in Beni, Bolivia, we began to evaluate and visit the over 20 different communities that asked us for a project in the San Andres Municipality. However, after many community meetings and discussions with parents and local authorities, we found that the communities that we needed one more project to complete our planned expansion and there were no more communities left in San Andres to visit!
El Masi is located on the shores of the Mamore River in the neighboring Loreto Municipality and is made up of 26 families who are indigenous Yuracare. They also requested a project and had shown their commitment and high level of communal organization, so we decided to begin working with the Loreto Municipality and open a project in El Masi.
