Yeraldine is a 5 year-old girl, from our early childhood stimulation program in Villa Alba. She is the third of four siblings. Her parents are Wilson and Yaneth. Yeraldine joined the Villa Alba program to support her learning when she was in the first grade.
Prior to joining the program, Yeraldine had difficulty recognizing letters or numbers. Due to her difficulty learning, she was insecure and timid. She would not participate in activities or say what she was thinking. Her fine motor skills needed improvement and her insecurities hindered her ability to interact with her peers.
Participating in the program resulted in Yeraldine:
- Improving her fine motor skills. Prior to the program, she could only write by connecting the dots. Now, Yeraldine is proud to write and draw.
- Recognizing and writing the alphabet
- Classifying and counting groups of objects
- Completing basic math problems
Yeraldine has succeeded in acquiring the basic knowledge needed in her grade level. Most importantly, since starting the program Yeradline has improved her self-confidence. She is able to communicate and interact with her peers and is happy to share her work material during activities as well.
Yeraldine will begin the second grade of primary school in March, 2017.
