2020 Results in Peru

As the 2020 school year in Peru comes to an end, we are starting to see the impact of our training programs.

Of the 1,076 teachers trained in our Peruvian Distance Learning Program, after only two months:

  • 78% observed improvement in academic performance in their students thanks to the techniques covered in the training
  • 68% observed improvement in critical thinking in their students thanks to the techniques covered in the training
  • 77% observed an increase in harmonious values put into practice by their students thanks to the techniques covered in the training
  • 78% observed that their students increased their appreciation of the value of traditional cultural activities thanks to the techniques covered in the training; and
  • 75% observed an increase in parental participation in their students’ learning thanks to the techniques covered in the training.

These numbers were encouraging, but we knew that with continued support from Alma, teachers could do even better. Therefore, after working six months with a focus group of over seventy teachers, we found:

  • 88% observed improvement in academic performance in their students thanks to the techniques covered in the training
  • 84% observed improvement in critical thinking in their students thanks to the techniques covered in the training
  • 88% observed an increase in harmonious values put into practice by their students thanks to the techniques covered in the training
  • 90% observed that their students increased their appreciation of the value of traditional cultural activities thanks to the techniques covered in the training; and
  • 77% observed an increase in parental participation in their students’ learning thanks to the techniques covered in the training.

There is still work to be done and the situation is constantly changing, but we look forward to improving and expanding our work in 2021!
